Colony Cafe | The Starter of A Well Stuffed Cafes in Malang

Yesterday was a suuuper long day for both of us.

We went out of home as early as at eight, drove straight ahead to college, fooled by some closed places we planned to visit, a hard-rainy afternoon, some randomly time wasting, getting back to college to meet teachers, until we got back home with a monsterous faces by five. *phew*

Also, a group meetup actually had to happen yesterday but suddenly canceled due to the hard rain, our limited free time before we get back to college and so. So this place named "Colony" was become our second (oh, maybe third!) stop after our first visit to college early in the morning.

We headed to this spot placed around Tidar by about 10:30 AM and we got ourself a bit of embarrassment because of our sudden first-comer and things like their crew who were still mopping the floor, uncomplete menus and stuff. So we sat down for a bit with such a.. well, straight and pokerfaces just to let them getting done with their opening preparation.

However, in less about 15 minutes we forced ourself to ask the smiley waiter whether they got their menus ready or not and we both ended chose a cup of hot capuccino, hot chocolate and two servings of banana cheese pancakes after he said yes.

Here is our one and only snapshot of my hot capuccino since the hot chocolate was foamy enough to make it decreased by the time it hit our table.

The banana cheese pancake was great, actually, but it kind of too big at least for both of us so by the time of your half eaten pancake it gets stuffy because of it's cheesy and creamy texture. You can also hardly find the bananas inside your pancake--because well, it named a banana cheese pancake after all. I found mine because the other fella told me that it was right on the center of the sandwich (it was a double pancake topped one and another, actually) but it was a suuuper tiny amount of bananas i can't hardly took and put em in my mouth. The cheesy and creamy flavour extremely killed the bananas's i think they should decreased the amount of it cheese, butter and milk. Of course if they used em as the ingredients :p

You want my suggest? Do not order and eat this on your own but share it with about two or maybe three of your friends! You'll got so much stuffed even if you are a big eater, cheese lover and creamy cakes die hard lover as I am.

The hot drinks in the cups? They were good!

But the last time we got there, they don't serve their hot drinks with such a "gulaku" sugar stick like they did yesterday but instead a tiny jar of liquid sugar. Offended? Oh, of course not. It just not as photogenic as it was before XD

Overall, my score is about 6 to 7 out of 10 for this place.

The foods--well, the snacks--were averagely good. Sorry we didn't get there by the time of lunch so we just got snacks for ourself but you can also find many other kind of "heavy" meal like japanese ramen, pastas, pizzas and also any kind of beverages like juices, teas and espressos. The price? Do not even bother because we got our huge pancake just for about 15,000 rupiah and that huge coffee in a cup for about 18,000 rupiah! (you'll have to pay for--averagely 25,000 rupiah--on many places for a regular size of coffee cup. On some coffee spesialized spot, you'll got a lot more darker coffee and they serve you also many kind of coffees from nationwide)

Need some wifi? Pay additionaly for 5,000 rupiah and you got your own WiFi Instant voucher per-visit. I wish i saw a board with "sorry for not providing free WiFi" word somewhere here :p
